For a very long time the U.S. had a “War Department,” but we conducted very few foreign wars. In 1947 Congress changed it to the “Department of Defense,” and we have conducted many, many wars since then, including our 2-decades-long Endless War against “terrorism.” Sensible people want to replace the U.S.’s chronically aggressive and violently militaristic foreign policy. A website is a source of some old TV programs and some old movies that you can watch for FREE. The October 1962 Cuban missile crisis VERY NEARLY escalated into nuclear war between the U.S. and the USSR. A Soviet submariner courageously defied his order to launch a nuclear-tipped torpedo at a U.S. warship.  That would have quickly escalated into global destruction. John Bolton, Trump’s National Security Advisor, Is Horribly Wrong and Eager for More Wars.

John Bolton is itching for a war against Iran, Venezuela, and other places.  He has a long history of being horribly wrong on international issues, opposing diplomacy, and lusting after more wars. Bolton is so extreme that later in May and early June 2019 Trump felt the need to tone down his own hawkish rhetoric and threats. Stop the cruel economic sanctions and economic disruptions against Venezuela, Iran, and elsewhere.

In order to bully other nations with whom the U.S. government does not get along, our government imposes cruel economic sanctions — and sometimes viciously disrupts the economies — against other nations. Most Americans go along with this.  They just don’t want American troops “on the ground,” so economic abuses are a way to attack other nations.  But this kind of bullying is wrong too. I wrote this one-page article to explain.  Please urge the U.S. government to stop this abuse. Economic sanctions are bullying without bombing or sending troops
