When you receive an e-mail notification of new posts to my blog, the bottoms of those e-mails include links to some “Suggested Readings.” I did not put those there, so you may disregard them. They were inserted by a company involved in my blog-hosting, so — like so many aspects of our society — they are advertising that distract us from real life.      

When you receive an e-mail notification of new posts to my blog, the bottoms of those e-mails include links to some “Suggested Readings.” I did not put those there, so you may disregard them. They were inserted by a company involved in my blog-hosting, so — like so many aspects of our society — they are advertising that distract us from real life.

If you subscribe to this blog, you are notified when new items are posted. At the bottom of the screens listing the new posts are some “Suggested Readings” links. PLEASE DISREGARD THAT ADVERTISING.  It is imposed on the e-mail notifications without my consent.  

The Establishment — mainstream culture, politicians, media, and other parts of the status quo — keeps seeing the world in conventional ways that keep perpetuating the world’s problems.  In order to change the world in better ways, we need to start seeing things differently.  Put one finger in front of your nose and another finger farther away.  Close one eye.  Then open it and close the other.  Your fingers will seem to move.  This is called a “parallax” view.  This blog addresses a wide variety of issues and invites people to look at them from fresh perspectives.  Enjoy looking at […]
