The Perils of an “America First” Climate Policy

June 13, 2021 GlenAnderson 0

Trump kept pulling the U.S. out of treaties and international collaboration.  He wanted an egocentric “America First” policy that actually interfered with solving global problems. Now President Biden is doing somewhat better on some issues, but he appointed a great many war-hawks to powerful positions, and he keeps taking his advice to pursue militarism and nationalism instead of collaborating well as one nation among nearly 200 on Planet Earth.  A number of knowledgeable persons have said that Biden’s foreign policy is pretty much the same as Trump’s President Biden has promised action to protect the climate, but in order to […]

A landmark court decision hurts Big Oil because Big Oil has failed to deal with the climate crisis.

May 27, 2021 GlenAnderson 0

A court decision in the Netherlands is a huge landmark. See these links to FOUR articles.   A judge holds Shell liable for causing climate change in historic vote: The Dutch ruling is being called a first of its kind and a big “step forward for the international climate movement.” See this short — but important — article by Ashley Curtin dated May 27, 2021: https://www.nationofchange.org/2021/05/27/a-judge-holds-shell-liable-for-causing-climate-change-in-historic-vote/ This article pertains to the Dutch court decision about Shell: The pathway to critical and formidable goal of net-zero emissions by 2050 is narrow but brings huge benefits, according to a special report by […]
