The gun lobby likes to say that the remedy for “bad guys with guns” is “good guys with guns.” Unfortunately, the police department of Uvalde, Texas, disproved that when they refused to enter an elementary school where an active shooter was murdering many students and two teachers.
This example also violated the slogan painted on many police car doors: “To protect and serve.”
