Science is all about seeking truth.  Trump’s entire business career was built on lying to people and defrauding people.  Then he extended his lies and fraud into the political realm.  Besides lying about everything else, Trump also waged a war against scientific truth.  He forced federal agencies to remove information about the climate crisis from their agencies’ websites.

In a free society the government respects science, but Trump acted like a dictator in a totalitarian society.  In the Soviet Union, Stalin believed that his version of Communism was absolutely the best possible political/economic system so he prevented anyone from informing anyone about any deficiencies.  Therefore, in order to rapidly industrialize the USSR, he allowed horrible environmental pollution and other abuses and prevented scientists from providing information about environmental damage.  Stalin’s abuses of the environment persisted long after his death.

Trump and his cult followers also have been rewriting reality and rewriting history to suit Trump’s political biases and his financial and narcissistic self-interests.
