If you think Coronavirus is disruptive and deadly, it is NOTHING compared to nuclear war!

July 5, 2020 GlenAnderson 0

Nuclear weapons are an EXTREMELY SERIOUS problem, but the public and news media pay almost no attention to the danger — which could DESTROY THE WORLD in just a few minutes! People are paying attention to the Coronavirus pandemic, so let’s pivot from that to consider how disruptive and deadly a nuclear war would be. The Coronavirus pandemic is seriously disrupting our world. Trump escalated the disruptions and increased the deaths by denying the reality, preventing the government from planning for pandemics, and suppressing the knowledge of scientists and doctors. A nuclear war would be much more disruptive and cause […]

Short animated video shows and explains what a nuclear weapon would do to a city

July 5, 2020 GlenAnderson 0

Since 1945 the U.S. has been preparing for another nuclear war.  The devastation with modern weapons would be HORRIBLY, HORRIBLY WORSE than the small atomic bombs the U.S. dropped on Japan. Trump and BOTH POLITICAL PARTIES have been funding more nuclear weapons — including NEW nuclear weapons that are MORE LIKELY TO BE USED than the ones that have been existing.  Trump as RADICALLY, RECKLESSLY changed U.S. policies to make it MUCH MORE LIKELY that he can and will launch nuclear weapons. In less than 9 minutes, this animated video shows what would happen to a city if just one […]

Click link to watch FREE movie “The Man Who Saved the World” about the Russian who prevented nuclear war during 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

A website is a source of some old TV programs and some old movies that you can watch for FREE. The October 1962 Cuban missile crisis VERY NEARLY escalated into nuclear war between the U.S. and the USSR. A Soviet submariner courageously defied his order to launch a nuclear-tipped torpedo at a U.S. warship.  That would have quickly escalated into global destruction. A powerful movie about this runs about 53 minutes.  CLICK THIS LINK: https://retrovision.tv/man-who-saved-the-world-the-2011/

Nearly all Americans are “deniers” of the nuclear weapons crisis.

July 5, 2020 GlenAnderson 0

Most Americans recognize that the climate crisis is VERY SERIOUS. We disagree with the “climate deniers” and with the “Coronavirus deniers.” But another existential crisis is VERY SERIOUS too:  Nuclear weapons can kill us all in just a few minutes.  Trump and both political parties in Congress are recklessly provoking and escalating a new nuclear arms race.  They are weakening the restraints against nuclear war. Most Americans are “DENIERS” that this crisis is happening.  Their negligence is even more deadly than the “climate deniers” and “Coronavirus deniers.” Mainstream news media are complicit in horribly failing to publicize the realities. Decent […]

Nuclear weapons violate international law. Here’s a protester’s strong statement.

July 3, 2020 GlenAnderson 0

It is well established that nuclear weapons violate international law.  An international court affirmed that in 1996.  Actually, even preparing for nuclear war violates the Nuremberg principles that the U.S. and the other victors in World War II established. But the U.S. and eight other countries own nuclear weapons anyway.  And the U.S. has installed them in some of our NATO allies, including Germany, where Germany’s Buchel Air Force Base maintains several of the U.S.’s nuclear bombs and prepares constantly to drop them on Russia or another nation if the U.S. orders that. For a number of years Europeans and […]

Earthquakes and rising sea levels vs. nuclear power plants

July 3, 2020 GlenAnderson 0

Issues are interconnected! The climate crisis is causing sea levels to rise. Nuclear power plants need cooling, so they are built near bodies of water (rivers, ocean coastlines, etc.).  In fact, 40% of the world’s nuclear reactors sit on coastlines, where sea-level rise, earthquakes and tsunamis endanger them and can cause catastrophes for huge portions of the world. For example, the nuclear power plants at Fukushima, Japan, melted down when an earthquake struck them and a tsunami resulted from the earthquake and caused even more damage.  Even now — nine years later — radiation is still spewing into the Pacific […]
