U.S. militarism sets a BAD EXAMPLE for ordinary people to think that shooting people solves problems!

The American people are alarmed and outraged by gun violence.  But they — and nearly all gun safety groups — OVERLOOK “THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM” that persistently REINFORCES AND PROMOTES gun violence.

THE U.S. GOVERNMENT’S FOREIGN POLICY AND BUDGET AGGRESSIVELY PROMOTE SHOOTING (and bombing) in THE MISTAKEN ASSUMPTION THAT VIOLENCE SOLVES PROBLEMS.

The government SETS A BAD EXAMPLE that ordinary Americans follow when they shoot people in a vain attempt to solve their problems.

If we want to reduce gun violence in the U.S., we must change U.S. foreign policy to TRULY PROMOTE PEACE INSTEAD OF MILITARY VIOLENCE!

Just like people urge de-funding the police and using the savings to fund programs that would really reduce crime, we must DE-FUND THE PENTAGON and use the savings to fund programs that would really reduce gun violence.
