I keep accumulating information on many dozens of topics that I want to post to my blog. My file of “CLIMATE EMERGENCY” resources has 80 items in it going back to September 2016 (a full year before I started this blog).

BOTH political parties have been horribly negligent in dealing with the climate crisis. MANY candidates in BOTH political parties take bribes (“campaign donations”) from fossil fuel companies. The Senate Democrats allow Joe Manchin — a multi-millionaire from coal companies — to CHAIR the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources. We all know what Biden and the Republicans have been doing.
President Biden should have declared a CLIMATE EMERGENCY in January 2021!!! Now — in mid-July 2022, he says he is considering it. He campaigned with promises to protect the climate, but he has done FAR, FAR TOO LITTLE. Now he is promoting more oil drilling offshore, etc. Now this article from July 19, 2022, says he is finally – a year and a half too late – considering (but not yet deciding) a “CLIMATE EMERGENCY.” https://www.ecowatch.com/biden-climate-emergency.html
In June 2022, the right-wing Republican-dominated U.S. Supreme Court issued a dangerous decision in the West Virginia v. Environmental Protection Agency case. The Court sharply restricted the EPA’s ability to regulate climate pollution from power plants under the Clean Air Act. The Court has repeatedly imposed its own extremist ideology over our nation by overruling decades of precedent that respected Congress’s intent to have federal agencies protect the American people and environment from dangers. President Biden has the power to declare a climate emergency today. He must do so! People nationwide are signing this petition, and I encourage you to sign too: Urge President Biden to declare a climate emergency now!
In March 2022, the Green New Deal Network and other progressive organizations, the Congressional Progressive Caucus urged President Biden to issue an Executive Order that recognizes the climate crisis for what it is: a code red emergency. Although he had campaigned for President as a strong champion for the climate, he has been very, very timid. Ordinary Americans must push him to do what he absolutely must do. Fossil fuel companies and the Congress members they have bought have been preventing necessary legislation. BIDEN KEEPS REFUSING TO USE THE EXECUTIVE POWER THAT HE HAS — without waiting for Congress — so WE MUST PUSH HIM to DECLARE A CLIMATE EMERGENCY and take strong Executive actions.
