On August 18, 2019, the U.S. tested a ground-launched cruise missile that the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty had prohibited since the Reagan-Gorbachev era, but Trump’s cancellation of the INF Treaty went into effect earlier this month, so now the U.S. and Russia are fighting a new Cold War.
