“Solutionary Rail Is a Win-Win-Win for Climate, Workers, Communities”

The November 2019 interview on “Glen’s Parallax Perspectives” TV series explores Solutionary Rail, a truly creative and exciting solution for several of our nation’s problems.

You can watch the interview through the link below — and on TCTV cable channel 22 in Thurston County, as mentioned in the information at the end of this blog post.

Solutionary Rail would significantly reduce fossil fuel use and air pollution. It would protect our environment, climate, and public health. It would create jobs, improve working conditions, and help local communities – including seaport areas, transportation hubs, cities, freeways, rural farming areas, and tribes throughout our nation.

Solutionary Rail’s concept, operations and potential are truly exciting! Its website – www.solutionaryrail.org – describes it as “a people-powered campaign to electrify America’s rail-roads and open corridors to a clean energy future.” It would revolutionize the way freight is moved throughout the U.S. This truly creative remedy connects the dots across a great many issues.

It would provide smarter systemic changes than merely converting to electric cars and trucks. Also, Solutionary Rail would be much better than ultra-high-speed “bullet trains.” It would be easier and quicker to create, and much cheaper and more practical for freight as well as passengers.

Glen interviews Bill Moyer, a key organizer for Solutionary Rail. Bill also is the Executive Director of the Backbone Campaign (www.backbonecampaign.org), a non-profit organization based on Vashon Island. Our interview explores many of Solutionary Rail’s benefits, and also the exciting progress in building the movement for Solutionary Rail.
