Our nation and world are in a horrible mess. The December 2018 episode of “Glen’s Parallax Perspectives” TV series examines how to solve the problems.
A person or an entire society has a “worldview” — a way of seeing reality — that strongly directs their behavior and public policy. The worldview that currently dominates the U.S. government and society has caused escalating greed, corruption, cruelty, oppression, war, and other bad things. Instead, we need to replace that worldview with its opposite — a worldview that is humane, compassionate, peaceful, fair to everyone, and environmentally sustainable.
An unjust society seeks to perpetuate itself, including perpetuating its injustices.
People who benefit from those injustices defend them as “just the way things are.”
Their worldviews are grounded in the unjust status quo.
Instead, let’s expose and challenge the injustices, and let’s replace the dominant worldview with one grounded in truth, universal human rights, and environmental sustainability.
This TV program’s topic is “Choose a Better Worldview to Build a Better World.” The overall worldview that has been dominating the U.S. for the past several decades (and especially in the past few years) is grounded in assumptions about reality that have caused many, many serious problems. November’s TV program focuses especially on that dominant worldview and the many problems it has escalated. December’s TV program focuses especially on how to create the OPPOSITE worldview and the OPPOSITE public policies. December’s TV program also proposes how to solve the problems through nonviolent grassroots organizing.
Cable TV subscribers in Thurston County WA can watch the December 2018 TV program on TCTV cable channel 22 three times a week throughout the month: Mondays at 1:30 pm, Wednesday at 5:00 pm, and Thursdays at 9:00 pm.
